Once upon a time there was a boy who wanted to
share his experience from travelling and exploring the world. He tried
different things; he wrote an online diary, he started taking photos, did
presentations, he talked a lot, but he never felt fulfilled. One day he had an
idea to start writing personal blog where he would connect his desire to write,
to take photos and to share his thoughts. He planned to write about travelling,
exploring his home country in order to make other people want to explore same things
as he did. The idea lingered in his mind for a long time, when eventually it
has seen the light of the world. And this blog, Nielen Jeleň, was born.
Why Nielen Jeleň? It has been my tumblr nickname for a very long time, but I have stopped using it. Therefore I have decided to use it for different blog and give it some meaning again. It translates to “Not only a deer”. Deer is my most favorite animal and moreover the nickname sounds pretty cool in Slovak too. You can find me under this name on twitter too.
What will you
find here? I will mostly write posts about
my travelling, doing tourist trips or just some insights I have been gathering
for a long time. It might evolve to some other things, but the main purpose is
to inspire people to travel and show them where to go and what to see.
Especially in my home country there are a lot of places which are yet to be discovered.
I want my life to be a big exploration and you to be part of this through this
blog.
How often? There
will be a post once a week, maybe twice. I have troubles sticking to a
schedule, but I will do my best to update this blog regularly. I am doing a
daily music blog and I have done
an online diary,
so I think I can do this. The first series of articles will be up in next days
(week). In them, I will cover my exploration of the traces of narrow gauge
railway in the Small Carpathians. I am also planning a series of posts about my US
trip, but they will take some time.
Now it’s time to start working on the first proper posts.
And yes, all posts will be written in English.
